Bio:

Mu got his Bachelor’s degree in clinical medicine and started working as a surgeon in 1985, and obtained a Master’s degree in general surgery in 1991. He used to be a visiting researcher at the Liver Transplant Research Institute of Pittsburgh University, United States and conducted postdoctoral research at the Cancer Center of Vanderbilt University, United States. He is mainly engaged in the surgical treatment and research of liver transplant, liver cancer, portal hypertension, and obstructive jaundice. He masters the modern methodology of medical research and the technology of oncomolecular biology. He has so far published over 40 papers in authoritative Chinese and foreign journals. He has also led large surgeries such as post-TIPS liver transplant, secondary liver transplant venacavaplasty and piggyback orthotopic liver transplant, liver transplant without blood transfusion, pancreaticoduodenectomy with portal vein reconstruction for duodenal stromal tumor, dissection of huge retroperitoneal schwannoma plus anastomosis of superior mesenteric artery, all of which are very complicated procedures of world-leading standard. So far, he has led more than 40 cases of liver transplant, over 1,000 cases of hepatectomy, over 300 cases of pancreaticoduodenectomy and about 200 radical operations for cholangiocarcinoma at hepatic portal and other highly difficult operations. He has also completed more than 4,000 major surgeries for liver, gall bladder, pancreas, spleen, stomach, breast, thyroid, and acute abdominal diseases. The liver transplant operations he performed are of world-leading quality and the success rate and effectiveness of his other surgeries are all of domestically leading levels or higher.
